What’s at Code BEAM Europe 2022 For Erlang Developers

Code Sync Team 24.02.2022

Love Erlang? Then you’re in the right place. We’re a conference lead by passionate Erlang developers, so we know a good looking Erlang talk when we see one. Trust us to bring you what you want to see from a technical perspective. No time wasted, just great talks by some of the most experienced Erlangers.

Even for the most seasoned Erlanger, our events provide a healthy shot of inspiration to improve efficiency, performance and productivity. Here are just a few reasons you can’t miss Code BEAM Europe 2022:

1. See Two of the Communities Favourites Team up for a new keynote

Quinn Wilton has provided some of our most popular talks in recent years. Her love of Erlang and computer science history has inspired, enlightened and entertained us with some incredibly memorable talks. This year, she’s teaming up with Robert Virding (co-creator of Erlang), with these two teaming up, you know you’re in for a treat.

2. New Approaches to Reducing Errors in Large Code Bases

Statically typed Erlang and reducing errors in large scale systems has been a popular and divisive topic in the community over recent years. In this talk, we get an insight into how Klarna was able to go from 12,000 dialyzer errors and reduce that number right down to zero.

3. New Ideas for Debugging

For most of us debugging is a chore. So it’s easy to understand why debugging hacks are so popular at our conferences. This year, Quildreen Motta Ribeiro will be joining us to talk about using debugging from your past to improve your future.

4. Updates from the OTP team

One of the highlights of our events is being the first to hear from the core team of major frameworks. This year, Cons T. Ahs will join us to go through the new features in OTP25 one by one.

5. Discover New Frameworks

Erlang continues to grow and surprise with new frameworks, and discovering them can not only be inspiring but also, can greatly improve productivity in future projects. One of this year’s exciting new frameworks is ROSiE, a pure Erlang operating system for robots, and I think we can all agree that Erlang + robotics is an exciting proposition.

6. The Real Winner is Friendship

Code BEAM events are inclusive and welcoming, no matter what your preferred language is, or how much experience you have. Join us, and learn, meet, and celebrate with hundreds of like-minded, passionate developers from all across Europe. If you’ve been before, you’ll know just how exciting it is to meet face-to-face with old friends from past years. And, if you’re a first-timer, you’re in luck because you’re about to make some amazing new friends. We can’t wait to see you there.

7. Good for you

Finally travel has been linked to numerous mental health and wellbeing benefits. It enhances creative problem solving and enables you to broaden your mindset and experience different cultures. So join us this year in Stockholm, the birthplace of Erlang, and learn a little more about Swedish culture while you’re at it!

If that wasn’t enough to convince you, our Early Bird sale is still ongoing! Which means you get all of these benefits for a significant discount! Our early bird sale ends at 23:59 on 29 April. Don’t wait! Reserve your tickets today!
