On Thursday 25th, after the first day of the Erlang Factory SF Bay 2010 conference, an Erlounge took place at the Coyote Point Yacht Club.
The first part of the Erlounge was a series of 10-minute talks in an environment of beer, cool drinks and snacks. Delegates and guests were given the opportunity to present themselves, their Erlang projects or to discuss Erlang-related matters of interest. Below is the summary of these talks:
Publication of the Japanese version of Joe Armstrong's "Programming Erlang" on February 2008 has influenced quite a number of Web programmers in Japan. On February 2010, Tokyo Erlang Workshop #4 and the according Erlounge in Tokyo were held, and about 70 people joined the workshop with six speakers including myself.
Many of Erlang programmers in Japan have difficulties in English proficiency, but of course they can read and write Erlang/OTP code. And in Tokyo Erlang Workshop #3 on June 2009, quite a few non-Japanese participants joined. Japanese Erlangers always welcome Erlangers worldwide, so feel free to contact them, and I will be of your help in English language as my time permits.
